Mr. Peter Akpokwaye was educated at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma-Edo State where he bagged the BSc degree in Accounting. He afterwards did several professional Management programs to develop and sharpen his managerial knowledge and skills. He is a trained and experienced Auditor, Management Accountant and financial expert with proven expertise and a demonstrated track record in successfully driving efficiency and productivity across almost all sectors and industries of the Nigerian economy. He is also adept in the manufacturing and FCMG industry.
His professional working career started with Horwath Dafinone (Chartered Accountants), now Crowe Dafinone, where he served as the Audit & Financial Services Supervisor/Team Leader leading different audit and investigation assignments for both public and private sectors of the economy for a period of 9 years. Before joining Niyya Food & Drinks Company Limited, Mr. Peter Akpokwaye worked as Finance Manager with Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Financial Controller with Crest Agro Products Limited, and Group Head (Finance & Audit) with Tellino Consulting Limited.
Mr. Akpokwaye is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He has vast experience in financial planning, process flow, budgeting, resource allocation, and bottom-line improvement. He is passionate about productivity improvement and process efficiency through professional analysis and interpretation of financial data and results providing strategic and tactical financial advice on the financial implications of various business initiatives. He has attended several financial and management training including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Corporate Governance, Corporate Audit, Econometrics, and Financial Management/Modelling, and Budget Planning/Implementation. He is highly knowledgeable in the use of accounting software applications such as Quick-Book, Sage, Pastel, Peachtree, SUN, and other relevant financial software applications.
